Bolton V. Blackpool

Par3484794 Four games since their last loss with 10 points from a possible 12 in those matches. Bolton are a team flying high and sitting in 5th place in the table. This young squad under the leadership of Owen Coyle have their sights firmly set on Europe. Johan Elmander currently has 8 goals in all competitions this season, miles better than his 5 last year while Super Kevin Davies is sitting on 6; he had all of last year.

Star-divide

The Wanderers have also looked to the future this week by extending Lee Chung-Yong's contract until 2013. Fabrice Muamba, Stuart Holden, and Danny Ward have already signed extensions earlier this season and Chungy putting pen to paper strengthens our midfield core for years to come.

Blackpool have also been on a fine run of form as of late and sit in a very respectable 12th place and 4 points clear of the drop zone, a place that many thought they would reside in for the whole of the season. The Tangerines are undefeated in four of their last five but only have two wins in that stretch, the results coming against strugglers West Brom and Wolves.

Bolton will be benefitted by an injury to blow to Blackpool’s Marlon Harewood. The striker is Blackpool’s lead scorer with 5 goals in 11 games. The injury came as a result of training midweek and has been diagnosed as hamstring tear leaving Harewood out for up to six weeks.

Expect an unchanged side from Bolton as there have been (thankfully) no new injuries. Sean Davis, Ricardo Gardner, Joey O’Brien, and Jlloyd Samuel are all still out. Hopefully there will be goals aplenty coming from the Whites just as they have done all season. Bolton have put 26 balls into the back of the net, the only teams that have scored more are Arsenal, Manchester United, and Chelsea who all sit on 28.

If results go Bolton’s way, the Trotters can be back in 4th place at the end of this round of fixtures.
