Transfer Frustration

David Wheater, of Dancing With the Trotters fame, is our one signing in this transfer window which is just a few days from closing. To say that this silly season has been frustrating would be the understatement of the year. Let’s have a roll call, shall we?

Curtis Davies: Just signed with Birmingham City
Ivan Rakitic: Just signed with Sevilla
Carlos Vela: Decided to go to West Brom for 6 months and help them get relegated.
Shaun Wright-Phillips: Might not even leave City. His wages were always going to be an issue.
Stephen Ireland: Looking more and more like Newcastle every day.
Oguchi Onyewu: That was the loosest rumor in the history of the world.

With Ivan Klasnic injured, our attacking options are Kevin Davies, Johan Elmander, and Robbie Blake. In other words, no competition up front and no one to cover in case of a slump... like now. The midfield is another problem area. We’ve seen how sloppy it becomes when Stu was injured and how we lack width without Chungy.
