One (Back) In, One (Maybe) Out

Lots of talk around the Premier League of players moving, players staying, and Big Sam geting the old band back together on this day that the 2011/2012 fixtures are released. We've got a bit of all of this in today's news update.

One of Allardyce's transfer targets after securing the signatures of Kevin Nolan and Abdoulaye Faye for his West Ham reunion tour was our own Ricardo Gardner who has been nothing but a loyal servant to Bolton Wanderers FC. Reports broke late last night that Bibi was set to turn down the London club's lucrative offer in exchange for another year with BWFC on reduced terms. Gardner's agent, Phil Graham, told the Bolton News:

"But he didn't particularly want to relocate, and his family certainly didn't want to relocate. He loves the club and the town, and wants to see his career out at Bolton, and more importantly in the Premier League.''

But with Gardner set to stay, it looks as though a player we want to keep is on his way out and no, it isn't Gary Cahill (yet). More reports last night say that Wigan have made a third bid for Ali Habsi somewhere in the neighborhood of £4 million and it looks as though Bolton are set to accept. You may be wondering what this does for the goalkeeper crisis at the club, well it looks like Coyle will once again put his faith in Jussi Jaaskelainen as the Finn is set to extend his contract (which currently expires next summer) for another year.
