BWFC Open the Carling Cup With Macclesfield Town

Some silverware outside of a preseason trophy would be nice.

With the new season comes the first chance at silverware for Bolton Wanderers. The Carling Cup campaign will start on August 22nd at the Reebok as the Trotters have been handed a tie with Macclesfield Town FC. The Silkmen, who currently reside in League Two, defeated Hull City by a scoreline of 2-0.

In this same round last season, Bolton beat Southampton 1-0 from an Ivan Klasnic goal. Hopefully this year’s margin will be a little bit greater as Bolton can use the match as a confidence booster.
