Bolton Wanderers v. Macclesfield Town: Lineups and Openthread

Can Wheater do it again?

Once again, it's going to be a lazy openthread today, partially because it's the FA Cup and partially because I still have to make curry for dinner. Without further ado, here are the lineups.

Bolton Wanderers: Bogdan, Riley, Wheater, Ricketts, Boyata, Tuncay, Petrov, M Davies, Reo-Coker, K Davies, Klasnic

Subs: Lynch, Robinson, Knight, Blake, Pratley, O'Halloran, Ngog

Macclesfield Town: Veiga, Bateson, Tremarco, Brown, Daniel, Mendy, Diagne, Brisley, Wedgbury, Hamshaw, Hewitt

Subs: Collis, Kay, Morgan, Mukendi, Fairhurst, Fisher, Whiteoak

I believe our match preview

predicted early goals for Bolton. Now don’t concede!

Live text updates make it look like a good match!

Haven’t yet found any coverage of the match, but I’m loving the scoreline thus far, and the live text updates on BBC’s live scores section seems to indicate Bolton are doing a much better job than the first leg.

As we said in the match preview

There is a reason these players are in league 2. Lack of consistency is usually a big problem when a lower division club has a replay against a prem side.

Very true

This is a pattern in lower league clubs: hold their own in the first leg and collapse in the second

Ha ha

but seriously, there is an ocean between what is considered a poor match for martin petrov and what is considered a poor match for Colin Daniel.

FT 2-0

Bolton are through, report to come

Yay

Excluding the blip against United, Bolton have had a nice upturn in form lately. Here’s hoping that’s a sign of good things to come in the league.
