It seems as though a large number of Bolton Wanderers fans had their hearts set on Ole Gunnar Solskjaer to come in as the next manager. He says that he'll be staying at Molde.
One of the first things we wrote about when the Ole Gunnar Solskjaer to Bolton Wanderers rumors started popping up was just how hard it would be for the club to actually get him in. The former Manchester United striker has found great success in his homeland while managing Molde to their first ever league championship. We said this on the day that Owen Coyle's sacking was announced:
However, he may be reluctant to leave Molde at this current point in time as they have just five games to go in a season where they sit top of the table by only two points. His side reached the third qualifying round of the current Champions League campaign before going out 2-1 on aggregate to FC Basel.
If his club continue going the way they are (still top of their table), he'll have another go at the Champions League too.
Now, Ole has spoken to a local newspaper and said that there is no way he will be leaving his beloved Molde side before their season ends. Speaking to Norwegian newspaper Romsdals Budstikke, he said:
"There will always be speculation when someone in England needs a new manager,"
"There are surely 20 names who have been linked with Bolton now and it's natural that mine is among them. But it's not for me.
"Blackburn, Bolton, rumours crop up all the time. But I'm not that bothered about them.
"I'm absolutely certain I will see out the season here (with Molde), I can promise that."
Molde's season ends on November 18 when they travel to Fredrikstad, just over a month away. Molde do however have Europe League matches scheduled past that, with the side due to face Kobenhavn and Stuttgart, the latter of those matches coming in December.
Bolton Wanderers seem determined to make the right appointment this time but don't expect them to wait around for Ole.
