He looks a happy boy. - Paul Gilham

That thing this morning about Bolton not being allowed to talk to their manager? Yeah, Palace have taken that back.

Bolton Wanderers will continue their pursuit of the man that they want to be the club's next manager, the one to succeed Owen Coyle. After a tweet and an official statement this morning saying that Bolton would not be allowed to speak with Crystal Palace manager Dougie Freedman, the Eagles have changed their mind. In a new statement on the club's website, Crystal Palace have said the following:

Following further discussions throughout the day, Crystal Palace Football Club can confirm that permission has been granted for Dougie Freedman to speak to Bolton Wanderers regarding their vacant managerial position.

Freedman, 36, is the manager in form in the Championship. His Crystal Palace side are sitting pretty in fourth place, having won six of their last eight matches and going unbeaten in that stretch. Palace fans are unhappy as Freedman is the man that saved them from a drop to League One in his short managerial stint. Bolton are rumored to be offering him a lucrative contract that is heavy on incentives.
