Benik Afobe has scored his first nPower Championship goal and it could not have come at a better time for Bolton Wanderers. Chris Eagles attempted a shot from long range and it was deflected out for Bolton's first corner of the match. Martin Petrov, who has his crossing/shooting boots on today, put an outswinging ball in from the right corner with his left foot. The Wolves defense failed to properly deal with it (read: deal with it at all) and Benik Afobe popped up in the box to stab it home. The goal came in the 21st minute to put Bolton Wanderers 1-0 up at Molineux.
Wolves came very close to equalizing just a few minutes later through Roger Johnson. The Wolves defender got his head on a cross, headed it into the ground, and the ball took a high bounce before coming off the crossbar.
Wolves would equalize in the 27th minute through Kevin Doyle on a quick counter attack. Adam Bogdan rushed onto the ball to try to stop the break but Doyle managed to get it under him and into the back of the net.
