Jack Sampson, a bright star for Bolton's future, was loaned to Southend United in League Two in the middle of January. His original loan expired on February 10, right after Southend's disappointing 0-2 loss to Rotherham. He's shown some promise in his time at Roots Hall Stadium with the Shrimpers, enough so that they wanted to extend his loan. Jack will now be coming back to the Reebok a month later with the new loan ending on March 10.
Out of six possible games since he first went out, Sampson has appeared in three of them. This included a good shift against Northampton where he assisted the final goal as Southend walked out 5-2 winners. The Shrimpers currently sit top of the League Two table, level on points.
