There is no question that Chung-Yong Lee is under contract at Bolton Wanderers. The question instead focuses on the length of his current deal. From all available public information, Chung Yong Lee is only signed for the next 12 months. New rumors have emerged from two different journalists that suggest that Bolton's young Korean winger is instead under contract for the next three years.

If true, this is great news for Bolton Wanderers especially as the vultures swirl overhead in the Premier League and Europa League.

The rumor was brought up by the Mirror's Alan Nixon in response to a fan's tweet and was then reinforced by the Bolton News' Marc Iles. Of course, nothing is anywhere near official yet.

However, if the information is in fact accurate, it will be a major boost for Bolton Wanderers fans given that at least one other club has declared interest in our Chungy. Lee has declared that he has not yet decided on his future. Speaking to the Bolton News, Lee said:

"I haven't thought about my future yet.

"The season has just finished and I just want to take some holiday now. I'm not going to hurry to think about my future because we have a few months before next season, but I can say now that I am a Bolton Wanderers player.

"I couldn't imagine that we are going down to the Championship. And I didn't expect that when we started the season.

"But it has happened. It could be much better if we stayed in the Premier League, but I couldn't do anything because I was injured.

"I'm fully fit now, but I will keep training for next season.

"On our last day of the season the manager said we have many young, talented players and we can give a good performance in the Championship, so we can come back into the Premier League next season."

Şenol Güneş, who managed Chung-Yong Lee at FC Seoul from 2007-2009 and now calls Turkey's Trabzonspor home, spoke to reporters at Japan's Incheon airport:

"Lee Chung-Yong has always been like a son to me. I will explore all the possibilities to sign him." the former Turkey boss told reporters at Incheon Airport, after visiting the Yeosu World Expo to promote his native country.

"I will contact him while I stay in Korea."

We hope that there is some sort of official confirmation soon, especially because Trabzonspor are reportedly not the only interested party. Newcastle United are said to be lurking as well.
