We hope to see more celebrations very soon
Bolton Wanderers Football Club has a bad habit of keeping fans in the dark in terms of injuries. Updates on Stu Holden, Bolton's best player, have been few and far between. David Ngog has been MIA since the beginning of the season, the last we heard about him was way back in July, when we were told he had tweaked his back, but that it was nothing to worry about and that he would be right as rain soon enough. Today, the club revealed that he has made his football come back, playing for the Bolton development squad.
The young Frenchman started for the baby Whites, and played the first 45 minutes in a goalless half. It sounds like he had a fairly quiet game, although he was credited with the best chance of the half. Ngog managed to get on the end of a deflected cross and head it goal-wards, but Norwich City keeper Jed Steer got his fingertips to it and denied the Trotters.
Bolton went on to lose 1-0 thanks to an own goal by Oscar Threlkald. Regardless, it's good to see Ngog on the recovery as Bolton could certainly use his spark in front of goal. While the club didn't give an estimated return, it should hopefully come in the next 2-3 weeks, with presumably a few more reserve appearances in between. Hurry up David!
