It was a first half of not too many talking points between the Trotters and the Eagles at Selhurst Park. Match action has been pretty end-to-end so far with Wilfred Zaha, Yannick Bolasie, and Glenn Murray being the danger men for Crystal Palace. Bolton have had more shots but Crystal Palace have had more on target. The Trotters have been best on the counter attack but have not been able to get anything from it. Kevin Davies has been largely ineffective when talking about testing Julian Speroni but he's played a few quality flicks into the area.
The major talking point of the half though is the referee who seems to have both sets of fans and players on his back. Early on, he booked Chris Eagles for simulation on the edge of the area. Eagles was forced to dribble through two men, stumbled on the edge of the area, and took an apparent knee on the way down. The wide man has been close to being on the receiving end of a second yellow a few times. Inconsistency and some strange calls, including a drop ball after a tussle, have seen the challenge flying in.
Neither team has scored but both have forced good saves out of the opposition goalkeeper. Crystal Palace seem to be attacking the left flank more often and Marcos Alonso has been busy.

I don't know what people are so fired up about. Jacob Butterfield's reunion with Bolton is not that big a deal, he was only at the Reebok for six weeks.
