Does Crystal Palace's capture of George Boyd ease open the door for Albert Adomah to Bolton?

Earlier we wrote about Bolton Wanderers' somewhat new-found interest in Bristol City winger Albert Adomah. The greatest stumbling block for Bolton in that potential move, beside's Adomah's valuation, would be the interest of Championship rivals Crystal Palace. Well, the Trotters may be able to cross that threat off the list after the Eagles have made a brand new acquisition.

That tweet above is from Darragh MacAnthony, the Chairman of Peterborough United. In it, he confirms that Posh and Palace have indeed agreed a fee for 27-year-old winger George Boyd, a lifetime Crystal Palace fan.

The Eagles are, of course, looking to replace Wilfried Zaha on a long term basis with the winger's sale but despite his immediate loan back to Crystal Palace. Zaha went for a fee in the neighborhood of £15 million with two thirds of that being paid up front. As a result, Palace have money to spend. As reported earlier, Bristol City had apparently already rejected two bids (£1 million and £1.5 million) and were, again reportedly, looking for something around £2 million for Adomah.

While Palace's near acquisition of Boyd won't open the floodgates, it could certainly push the door open just a tiny bit further for Bolton to pounce.
