That's that. Bolton Wanderers have officially added Southampton winger Steve De Ridder to their ranks. The deal is a one month loan for the Belgian but the Trotters will have the option to extend if the move proves to be a worthwhile one.

De Ridder has spent the last season-and-a-half at Southampton where he was on the bench for a lot of the time. He made the bulk of his appearances, 41 in all competitions for Southampton over those 18 months, from the bench. The majority of those came in Southampton's promotion campaign where he started nine games and came off the bench in 25. This season, he only made seven appearances in all competitions for the Saints, starting just a pair in the League Cup.

He's a bit of a versatile signing as he can play on both wings and comes advertised with "pace to spare." It's a minimal risk signing that could reap rewards for Bolton Wanderers in an area that needs depth and badly.
