There's a Mark Davies-sized hole in the Bolton Wanderers midfield. In the event you're wondering how big that is, it's about 5'11, loves a mazy run, and generally scampers about the midfield, playing lateral balls to and fro. Despite the fact that Dougie Freedman has a few options at hand to fill the gap, a report from the Mirror suggests that the Trotters will look at a loan target to help make a late season playoff push.

The player in question is 19-year-old Fulham midfielder Kerim Frei. The midfielder, known for his pace on the ball, quick wits, and even quicker feet has been with the Cottagers since 2010. He joined as a youth player from Swiss side Grasshopper Club Zurich. He would make his first team debut a year later in the Europa League qualifying rounds. Since 2011, he has made 21 appearances for Fulham's first team. Earlier this season, in October, he was loaned to Cardiff City but after making just three appearances for the league leaders (one of which lasted all of seven minutes), he was recalled by Fulham.

Frei is also a Turkish international. After playing for Switzerland at the U18, U19, and U21 levels, Frei opted to switch his allegiance to the country of his father's birth. He has made one appearance for Turkey thus far, playing 24 minutes in a friendly against Denmark last November.

The loan window for Football League clubs is open for another three weeks.
