Bolton Wanderers Match Previews
Match Preview: Stoke City v Bolton Wanderers
It all comes down to this. The 38th and final match of the season. Beat our opponents, then look to the scoreboard. It's a forgotten experience for many Wanderers supporters. The last time we went into the final weekend with our Premier League status in doubt was 2003. We've been through a lot since then. And yet, nothing has changed.
Stoke City have 44 points from 37 matches. In some years, they might still be mathematically threatened by relegation. But not this season. They sit in fourteenth place, unlikely to move up and unable to move down. It is the definition of the phrase "nothing to play for." In fact several pundits have used the expression "They're already on the beach" when discussing Stoke City and Bolton's chances of staying up. One win in their last eleven matches may confirm this opinion. Bolton teams of the past would have smelled blood and crushed the Potters. The current iteration of the Mighty Wanderers has not shown such a killer instinct. Keep reading to find out what the team will look like tomorrow, and what chance they have.

Do or die. Put it all on the line. Now or never. Show no fear. Bolton had good and bad results against Stoke in the recent past. We all remember the bitter FA Cup Semifinal and the 5-0 win earlier this season but there were other games against the Potters since their promotion in 2008.

Preview: Bolton v. West Brom
This is it folks. We are getting into the nitty gritty end of the season, and we still have not secured safety. There's no way around it, we absolutely need a result from this match, as going into the last match still in the bottom 3 is a frightening prospect. I still believe Bolton can pull it out, but they only have so much time left to do it in. The good news is that the fixtures are on our side, as QPR and Blackburn have tough fixtures to close out the season, playing Manchester City and Chelsea respectively. If Bolton can get a result tomorrow, and a draw against Stoke, the Premiership is still attainable.
Bolton Wanderers v. Tottenham Hotspur
Despite the fact that Bolton Wanderers are still in the thick of the relegation battle, the men in white have been on an unexpectedly good run of form. In their last eight games Bolton have won four, drawn two, and lost two. In that time, picking up 14 of a possible 24 points. Tottenham, on the other hand, have lost two of their last three Premier League matches, scoring a total of four goals in that span.
Match Preview: Sunderland v Bolton Wanderers
Usually at this point in the season we know what we are getting from each club. The manager, the style, the squad, the strengths, the weaknesses, all of this should be well-known by April 28th. This is not the case with these two clubs, for a variety of reasons.
It's pretty easy to understand for Sunderland, as they hired a new manager midway through the season. They currently sit 11th in the table, on 44 points. Bolton, on the other hand, have just been fantastically inconsistent. The players are not entirely to blame for this, it has come from the top. Owen Coyle's tactics, personnel, and formation have all changed several times in the past nine months. As a result, Wanderers are 18th in the table, with 33 points from 34 matches.
So what will we see this Saturday at the Stadium of Light? Roker Report (SB Nation's Sunderland blog) spoke with us yesterday, and they said to expect a very tight, very organized Sunderland team. OK, they now have Martin O'Neill at the helm, so that is no surprise. But what can we expect from Bolton Wanderers?
Bolton Wanderers v. Swansea City: Match Preview
Last time Bolton faced Swansea City in the league, the Wanderers came away with what was to be only the beginning of a stream of disappointing results, losing 3-1, the consolation goal an own goal scored by Danny Graham. 6 months later, Bolton are in 18th and in desperate need to put some points on the board in their remaining 6 games. In their more recent clash in the FA Cup, the Trotters were just about able to hold their own against Swans' slick passing, but the stakes are higher now.
Newcastle United v. Bolton Wanderers
To say that Newcastle United are flying high at the moment would be a massive understatement. The Magpies are unbeaten in their last seven home matches, including winning five of those games. In five matches at Sports Direct Arena, Papiss Demba Cisse has scored five goals for the Toon. Newcastle's front pairing of Cisse and Demba Ba are likely give a tired Bolton defense a lot of trouble.
Match Preview: Bolton Wanderers v Fulham
This will be a battle between two clubs who decided in January that they did not want Bobby Zamora, so we know there will be at least some footballing intelligence on display. In all seriousness, Fulham bring a talented and in-form frontline north to Lancashire this Saturday. The Cottagers sit tenth, smack dab in the middle of the table, on 39 points from 31 matches.
Many people might not remember this, but Fulham and Bolton were promoted together, over a decade ago. Blackburn were the third member of that promotion class, and none of the three have gone back down since. All have qualified for Europe on multiple occasions as well. It's really an impressive group. But in the last few seasons, it is Fulham that have jumped to the front of the pack. To find out what Bolton have to do to beat them, follow me...
